Heather's Story

Heather began her career in medical billing in the early 2000s, quickly discovering that medical and mental health billing was a world apart from general medical billing. The unique coding requirements, session-based documentation rules, and the nuanced relationship between mental health providers and insurance carriers demanded a specialist — not a generalist.

In 2021, she founded Heart & Soul Billing Solutions with a single conviction: mental health providers deserve a billing partner who truly understands their world. Not just the codes and the forms, but the mission. Mental health practices exist to help people — Heather's job is to make sure that work is financially sustainable.

Over two decades, Heather has worked with solo practitioners, group practices, psychiatric hospitals, and telehealth platforms. She's seen every payer quirk, every denial pattern, every credentialing obstacle. That accumulated knowledge is what she brings to every client relationship.

Heather stays current through ongoing education, industry certifications, and active participation in professional billing associations. When regulations change — and in medical and mental health billing, they change often — her clients are the first to know.
